ACU License Number

An ACU (Auto Cycle Union) license is required to compete in certain motorcycle racing events on our calendar.

What is an ACU license?

The Auto Cycle Union is the governing body for motorcycle sport in the UK and Ireland. An ACU license allows you to compete in sanctioned events under ACU rules and provides personal accident and third-party liability insurance coverage.

Who needs one?

Some events on our calendar are run under ACU regulations and require riders to hold a valid ACU license. Check each event's details — it will be clearly indicated if an ACU license is required.

How to get a ACU Pocket Bike License

The process is simple on how to purchase an ACU Pocket Bike License Please follow the steps below:

  1. Apply for your Pocket Bike License via the ACU Sport80 website https://acu.sport80.com
  2. Register for an account or log in
  3. On your ACU Profile, got to : Members > [Rider Name] > ACU Competitor Licences
  4. Click Add ACU Competitor Licence & Select the Pocket Bike License license type (RR Pocket Bike Only)
  5. Complete the application and pay the annual fee
  6. For ACU Licenses to be valid, you must be a registered member of a club (FAB Racing). Once you upload your ACU GB membership number to your FAB riders profile, the ACU Club membership will automatically be linked with FAB Racing.
  7. Once you have completed your license registration your license will stay as pending until your first event.

Tips:

  • When applying for the first time on the sport80 software it can be quite confusing.
  • You only need to complete the medical form if you are over 70 years of age or have diabetes.
  • You only need to complete the Eye Report if
    • You are a Road Race, Scooter Road Race or Parade first time applicant.
    • You are a Road Race, Scooter Road Race or Parade licence holder renewing and your last eyesight report was 3 years ago or more.
    • You are a Road Race, Scooter Road Race or Parade aged 55 or over.
    • You are being treated for diabetes.
    • You are applying for an International FIM licence.

You need to complete the Medial Questionnaire found in the Medial Documentation section and press "Add Medical Documentation" to find the Medical Questionnaire Form: Medical Questionnaire

You need to provide a photo I.D Document and a proof of residency document which can be uploaded in your Personal Documents section: Personal Documents

Is it required?

The ACU license field is optional on your profile. You only need to enter it if you plan to enter events that specifically require one. You can add or update it at any time from your dashboard.
